TECHNIQUES FOR THE REALISATION OF GLASS WINDOWS
AND DOORS
Glass windows and doors in glass melting are identical
to traditional glass for what concerns the assembling technique.
The difference consists in the fact that in this technique the single
glasses forming the panel are made of several paintings, with grisaille
or enamels, in order to form landscapes and other figurative patterns.
The technique of leaded glass, called "cathedral",
coming from the early Middle Ages, intended for religious architectures
(as suggested by the name) and the Tiffany technique (copper foil
and solder) that is called after its inventor at the beginning of
the twentieth century, intended also for decorative glass windows
and doors and for the production of gifts and fancy goods (lamps).
